The Yogic Science of the nostrils called Swara Yoga. When one nostril is dominant, the opposite hemisphere of the brain dominates the mind. Stress, nervous breakdowns and disease are said to be avoided through mastery of the nostrils.

The Practice:

In a meditative seat, sit tall and interlace your fingers with the right thumb resting over the left thumb. Place the palms against the body at the line of the diaphragm. With eyes closed, concentrate on your breath in the nostrils. Notice and be aware of which nostril is more dominate. You should notice within 3 minutes.

Then start to change which nostril is more dominate through only your awareness. Go back and forth from left and right spending about 1 minute on each side. Continue 5-31 minutes.
